Only a worker’s party can create more jobs

Jobs are the number one priority both for the Social Democrats and the Moderate Party. How should Sweden create more jobs?

The greatest challenge for Sweden is to create more jobs and strengthen Swedish economy after the worst recession in modern time. In order to do so we need to make it cheaper, easier and more profitable for companies to employ people. Before the change of power in 2006, Sweden was the country in the world with the highest tax rates and the cost of employing was high. The Moderate Party and the Alliance have changed that in the last four years and cut taxes for ordinary people with ordinary salaries and low incomes. It is also more profitable for companies to hire people today due to lower costs. It is this political path we must continue on. The ongoing election is an election between creating more jobs or giving large contributions from the state to people for doing nothing.

The Social Democrats have totally abandoned all of their earlier policies for creating more jobs in Sweden and have instead chosen a left-wing oriented political path together the Green Party and the Left Party. Across Europe, Social Democrat governments have been removed from power because of the lack of responsibility in public finances. That was the case in Great Britain, in Germany and in last year’s European Parliament election where the Social Democrats lost a large amount of seats. The Swedish people are following this trend because we demand leadership and a reform agenda for more jobs. It is thanks to a clear job-creating policy with responsibile public finances that Sweden, in the greatest recession in modern time, has managed to create Europe’s best financial conditions with lower unemployment rates and stronger public finances than our neighbor countries in Europe.

The challenge is also about reforming the education system and creating a much clearer connection between education and the labor market. With The Social Democrats in power for 65 out of the last 74 years, the education system has turned into something other than a clear institution for knowledge. We need to start giving students and pupils all conditions possible in order for them to meet the requirements on the labor market. The combination of between a modern education system and making it more profitable both to work and to employ is the core of the Alliance election manifesto for more jobs in Sweden.
