Earlier on the blog I have written about the campaign Meat Free Monday, started some years ago by Paul McCarthy and his daughters. Since meat production has a high impact on the environment and climate, leaving meat out of the plate at least one day a week would be an achievable goal even for people who haven’t thought about going vegetarian, they figured.

The campaign has spread all over the world and this week the World Wide Fund for Nature, WWF, announced that one of the driving forces behind the Meat Free Monday campaign in Sweden, Jonas Paulsson, has been elected this years Environmental Hero. During the last two years he has been convincing schools, other public sector restaurants and everyone else to go vegetarian once a week. Read more » >>
