Royal Picture No. 1

For quite some time we have been trying to encourage our readers to send us pictures related to the royal family and the upcoming wedding. For months nothing happened, and the suddenly, a picture! So thank you Ola Berglund. Your picture is displayed on Sweden.se.

A Swedish Classic

Yesterday I got a call from a big international magazine. They were desperately searching for a classical Swedish ad from the 70´s showing weightlifter Hoa-Hoa Dahlgren with a baby in his arms. The ad was made by Försäkringskassan (the Swedish Social Insurance Agency) in order to encourage fathers to increase their parental leave.

After a few hours of searching I finally got in touch with an extremely helpful man on Försäkringskassan who sent me the picture. Of course I needed to share it.

Today the baby on the picture is a grown up man. He just recently became a father and took five months off work to care for his little daughter.

A new home for photography

This is a great week for Stockholm and everyone who loves photography. Fotografiska, a brand new center and exhibition space for contemporary photography is just about to open its doors. They will start with exhibitions of two absolute giants: Annie Leibovitz and Lennart Nilsson. Couldn´t be better.

Thank you Royal Court!

This week the Royal Court for the first time ever released free press pictures of the Crown Princess Couple.

It might not seem like a big thing but for me and everyone else working with promotion of Sweden this is a huge step – and a great help. Instead of always sending all media inquiries to the commercial picture agencies I can now send at least some of them them to the Royal Court. Great! Made my life a little bit easier.
