Sweden was out in full force today celebrating Midsummer. Last year, I was at Farsta Gård checking out the maypole dancing festivities. This year, I was at Skansen with a very special guest – Sweden.se expat blogger Kate Reuterswärd and her beau, Simon! You can read more about this beloved holiday over on Kate’s blog.

Ran into a bachelorette party (möhippa) at Slussen last weekend just when friends of the bride-to-be were blindfolding her, dressing her up in a bathrobe and feathered halo, and getting ready to lead her through town.

To get the lowdown on a Swedish möhippa, read expat blogger Kate’s own experience.

I’ve photographed big sprawling Valborg celebrations and they don’t get bigger than Skansen. But this time around, I found myself in the tiny village of Klöverträsk (population roughly 250) where Valborg was being celebrated in a low-key, non-alcohol fueled fashion.
