I also happened to be in Luleå when Sweden’s “largest” flea market/yard sale was going on – Arcus Fyndmarknad. Held twice a year in the massive Arcus indoor sports hall, the market draws thousands of sellers and buyers willing to weed through piles and piles of used items, vintage stuff, books, porcelain, and other household items up for sale.
After doing a bit of delayed spring cleaning at home, we decided to donate old items to Myrorna, a non-profit organization that accepts donations – clothes, shoes, household supplies, working electronics, you name it – and runs second-hand stores all over Sweden.
