Having driven across Högakustenbron (High Coast Bridge) numerous times before, this time around, we decided to stop for fika, stretch our legs once more, and walk around the grounds of Hotell Höga Kusten – a nearby conference center. The land around this UNESCO Heritage region along the Gulf of Bothnia continues to rise every year.

Hanging Out At Höga kusten

I’m currently in Luleå, Northern Sweden where 17th-century Gammelstads Kyrkstad (Church town) with over 400 red cottages built around the church, is located. Will be posting photos from our 12-14 hour (one way) drive up and back along the Gulf of Bothnia and High Coast in the following days.

Every summer, we usually make the 12-hour (14-hours with Max hamburger stops in Sundsvall and Skellefteå) journey to spend time with family in Luleå in Northern Sweden. The scenic route runs along the Gulf of Bothnia and Baltic Sea, occasionally cutting through villages lined with Falu red cottages along the way.
