Immanuelskyrkan - a popular international church in Stockholm - recently hosted its annual GoodLife Street Festival at the junction of Tulegatan and Kungstensgatan. The festival featured an international fashion show, live music, bouncy castle and face painting for kids, food, a Foosball table, and other fun activities.
New Year’s Day has come and gone and here are some snapshots of the feeling around town just when the clock struck midnight on December 31.

I finally hit a couple Christmas markets (Julmarknader) around Stockholm this week and here are scenes from one of the more popular markets located within Stortorget in Gamla stan (Old town). Here, you can pick up a variety of porcelain ornaments, festive decorations, and wooden gnomes as well as dig into gingerbread cookies (pepparkakor), mulled wine (glögg), candied almonds, jams, and deli meats.

Today, Sweden celebrates St. Lucia Day and one of many Luciatåg (Lucia processions), third graders dressed in white, stopped by the Lidingö Library to perform and sing festive songs for the local community. You can read more about the history behind this tradition here.
