Originally from Kent, England, Adrienne Cook has been running her shop, Så gott som nytt (“As good as new”) for 26 years. She also accepts donations in children’s clothes, books, toys, shoes, and more which are driven by truck every few months to the small struggling town of Saldus in Latvia.

One of many reasons why I think Sweden is fantastic for families is its concept of free open kindergartens (Öppen förskola) which are community day-cares/kindergartens where parents can bring their infants and toddlers to play with other children and build some social lives before they start actual nursery school.

Immanuelskyrkan - a popular international church in Stockholm - recently hosted its annual GoodLife Street Festival at the junction of Tulegatan and Kungstensgatan. The festival featured an international fashion show, live music, bouncy castle and face painting for kids, food, a Foosball table, and other fun activities.
