My glasses have been sitting at an angle on my face for the last few weeks and so I decided to finally go get them fixed. While in Norrköping, I popped into an eyeglasses store and met manager Pia Viola with her funky kiwi-colored nail tips and delightful service-minded attitude.

I recently visited Ella and Lars of communications agency Love at work in the cool airy space called “Huvudkontoret” (the head office) they share with about five other creative companies (think PR, design, web).

Today, I was in Tyresö (about 30 minutes south of Stockholm) for business, and found welders – Sune and Johannes as well as Ishan from Tunisia – on their lunch break in a nearby workshop. They fix and weld heavy machinery. While their store is relatively new (around 2 years old), both Sune and Johannes have been welding for more than 40 years.
Two weeks ago, I attended “Good Morning 2011” – a conference organized by the Stockholm School of Entrepreneurship (SSES) that brings together innovators, small businesses, start-ups, and leading entrepreneurs in various industries to share ideas, tips, and approaches to moving ahead of the competition, developing one’s brand, and doing it while delivering consistent quality. In short, it was quite the meeting of the minds.
