When, where & what you studied in Sweden:
At the moment, I am still clearly remember the day I received the SI Scholarship Notification from the reserved scholarship position in late June 2004 to attend the Master Program in Water Resources Engineering at Lund Institute of Technology (LTH), Lund University. This was one of the most happiness days of my life. After successful completed the program in January 2006, I had got the Ph.D Scholarship from Japanese Government to pursuit doctoral research at Tohoku University. I have completed my doctoral degree in November 2009 and immediately after that I was granted for 2-year postdoctoral fellowships from Japan Society for Promotion of Science, which is a high reputation scholarship in Japan, to continue carry out my research at Tohoku University.
I finished my academic degree journey and returned to Vietnam in late 2011. I am currently being a lecturer at the Water Resource University in Hanoi. Besides, I am also work as a senior engineer for one U.S Environmental Consulting Company in Hanoi branch office. Read more » >>

When, where & what you studied in Sweden:
I was awarded an SI scholarship in 2006 to attend my master’s studies in Electric Power Engineering at Chalmers University of Technology, Gothenburg, which I completed in 2008. Immediately after that, I joined Uppsala University and studied Sustainable Development specializing on Energy and completed my studies in 2010.
Currently I’m working at Libya Oil Ethiopia Ltd, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, as Lead Engineer and working part time research works in Water and Energy related issues (self)
Strongest memory from Sweden:
Biking in the snow was one of my favorite activities sin Sweden. I also did some skiing in the winters and that was quite an amazing experience too. Read more » >>

On 3 September current and former SI scholarship holders who were in Stockholm to attend the World Water Week met at the Swedish Institute.
SI Alumni were offered to attend the World Water Week as part of the SI Alumni Forum. 20 applicants from 14 different countries were given a full conference pass and a travel grant by the Swedish Institute to attend the event in Stockholm. This exclusive opportunity had previously been announced on the SI Alumni blog.
At the Swedish Institute mingle SI Alumni also got to meet with current scholarship holders who had been given the chance to attend the World Water Week through the SI Network for Future Global Leaders.
SI Director-general, Ms Annika Rembe, welcomed everyone to the Swedish Institute. Participants also got to meet with the people at SI working with NFGL and SI Alumni Network.
Future opportunities to participate in SI Alumni Forum events will be announced on the SI Alumni blog and the SI Alumni Network pages on Facebook and LinkedIn.
The SI Alumni Team is happy to announce that we were able to offer seats to 20 SI Alumni for the World Water Week in Stockholm, 31 August – 5 September. The selected alumni will be given a full conference pass and a travel grant to cover costs in connection to the conference.
All applicants have been notified through e-mail. If you have not received a notification regarding your application to attend the World Water Week, please contact the SI Alumni Team.
Within SI Alumni Forum, the Swedish Institute offers workshops, seminars and network events only and exclusively for SI Alumni, i.e. former SI scholarship holders. The opportunity to attend the World Water Week within the SI Alumni Forum was previously announced on the Alumni blog. 20 SI Alumni from 14 different countries in Africa, Asia, Europe and South America were selected for this event in accordance to the criteria stated in the the blog announcement.
