The CSR Centre of the Embassy of Sweden in Beijing organized a workshop on strategic sustainable development in Shanghai in the evening of August 25th. At the workshop, the Natural Step, a Swedish organization working on sustainability, and Interface, introduced their work on sustainability as well as impact and challenges. It was a great evening with our SIMP alumni from all over China and Maisoun Jabali, Counsellor and Head of the Economic Section came to see the alumni as well as to give an introduction of the latest CSR trends in Swedish media.

Through a call for applications by SI, six alumni were granted funding to present at the International Society for Third-Sector Research’s 12th conference in Stockholm. Every year SI sponsors alumni to attend different events and conferences in order to support their professional development and strengthen their networks in their fields. The Swedish Institute Network for Global Leaders (NFGL) Diploma Ceremony was held on 27 May 2016. It was a memorable evening, which gave rise to mixed emotions in the minds of the scholarship holders. On the one hand there was the joy of graduating, while on the other there was the sad feeling of finishing the study life, the scholarship period and, for many of us, our time in Sweden. The Diploma Ceremony was held at the Blue Hall of the City Hall of Stockholm, well known for hosting the grand banquet dinner of the Noble Prize.
