On 11 and 13 April respectively, the Embassy in Beijing and the Consulate in Shanghai hosted students accepted to study in Sweden for pre-departure events. The events targeted Chinese students who have been accepted to one of eight Swedish universities. Two exciting events have taken place in Shanghai:
Lunar January 15, the first full moon day in a year, is regarded as reunion moment for all family members and friends in China.
Alumni events were held in Beijing, Guangzhou and Shanghai last week as Swedish universities and Swedish Institute representatives were in China to attend the China Education Expo.
On 23 October more than 70 alumni from 18 Swedish universities attended a workshop on networking and career building at the Nordic Centre in Beijing. The event was organised by the Embassy of Sweden in Beijing with support from the Swedish Institute. Ms Emily Roblin, founder and Managing Partner of LEAP, engaged the alumni in a dynamic workshop that equipped the attendees with valuable networking skills and helped expand their social and professional networks. The alumni also got a little taste of Sweden as they were served Swedish-inspired sandwiches from Modo and delicious cinnamon buns baked by the Nordic Centre staff. When, where & what you studied in Sweden?
Mike studied in 2002 till 2004 in KTH (Royal insitute of Technology) for internetworking master and Stockholms Universities for EMIS master program. Was awarded KTH Stipend for thesis work in KTH Swedish Center for Internet Research.
Mike has worked as managing director of Shanghai Mu Yi Investment Advisors Ltd. since 2006. He led teams to have accomplished a series of venture capital and private equity investment projects in varies emerging sectors. Now he focuses on technolgoy transfer and venture investments between Nordic countries and China.
