Are you a Swedish Instiute Alumni and interested in organizing a local alumni event in your country?
Today the Swedish Institute (SI) is pleased to announce the possibility for SI alumni (former scholarship and grant holders) to apply for financial support to arrange local events, focusing on thematic areas of relevance for development in the Baltic Sea Region. The idea of this call is to provide a limited start-up possibility for SI alumni who wish to stay active and continue building professional networks after their scholarships in Sweden. Events supported within this call must take place in Belarus, Georgia, Moldova or Ukraine, and be held in autumn 2013.
The grant can be used to arrange lectures, seminars, workshops, study visits and much more. It is the organizing team behind each application that outlines which components to include, and how it should be managed. It could also be a series of events together forming a larger program, covering different aspects and questions related to the topics discussed. The Swedish Institute recommends that any organizing team establishes collaboration with external partners, and if possible the Swedish embassy or consulate.
Events targeting any of the following thematic areas will have priority:
- Green technology and/or Energy efficiency
- Innovation, Creativity and Entrepreneurship
- Management skills, Leadership and Networking
- Employment and Career development
- ICT and E-solutions

Requirements and guidelines in brief:
Procedure for application: The completed application form, along with necessary enclosures must be sent by e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org
Application period: August 15, 2013, open until September 15, 2013

Organizing team: At least three team members (more information available in the application instructions)
Event location: The event must take place in Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, or Ukraine
Date of event: To be held no later than January 31, 2014
An event must include at least 10 SI alumni, together representing one or several of the categories below. The Swedish Institute, however recommends that an event gathers 20 participants or more, in order to ensure interesting networking possibilities and sharing of ideas/experiences.
- Former Swedish Institute scholarship holders/SI alumni
- SI Management Program North Europe (SIMP) alumni
- Previous participants of the Swedish Institute Summer University (SISU)
- Former students of Swedish language at universities, or SI-supported centers for Swedish studies
