Invitation: Study Visit to Hammarby Sjöstad, Stockholm, 28 November 2014

Dear SI alumni,

Please find below an invitation from SI Alumnus Aleh Kliatsko to an event in Stockholm:

Are you Swedish Institute Alumni and live in Stockholm and around? This is a great opportunity for you to meet with other SI Alumni.

One of the main aims of SI Alumni event is to strengthen the local SI alumni network, establishing new contacts, sharing of ideas and experiences of studies and research in Sweden.

The event will include presentations and discussions on the area of Urban of Development and specifically about Hammarby Sjöstad – an eco-friendly district of Stockholm, where all ecological ideas were put into life and showed how once the worst urban district could be changed, what steps for that were and could be taken and what ideas will be implemented in the future.

Speakers:

Joakim Rindsäter – the environmental information centre for Hammarby Sjöstad.

Andriy Malovanyy – Consultant at WSP Sweden.

Tigran Haas  – Associate Professor of Urban Planning and Design, Director of Graduate Urbanism Studies at KTH.

There will also be a hands-on workshop by Global Playground Stockholm on how to live a more sustainable life:

GREEN IN EVERYDAY LIFE – practical actions to save energy and water at home in your everyday life. A smart and easy way to help the environment and combat poverty. We’ll interactively learn all sorts of tips and tricks how to live a greener life and playfully learn about responsible consumerism.
