Dear SI Alumni,
The Swedish Institute has the pleasure to invite you to this year’s first alumni event in Sweden! All former SI scholarship and grant holders currently living in or visiting Sweden are welcome for a networking meeting and encouraging discussions at the Olof Palme International Center in Stockholm on the 29th January, 2014.
The event will start at 11.30 a.m. with a lunch and a short mingle to share your ideas on the alumni network in Sweden and expectations for the afternoon visit to the Palme Center. During the visit you will be introduced to the work of the Palme Center, as Sweden’s and the world’s expert organisation in international development cooperation, democracy and peace promotion.
The key point of the event will be the speech on Global Political Challenges and Citizen Participation, given by Jens Orback, the Secretary General of the Olof Palme International Center. You will have the opportunity to ask your questions to Mr. Orback and also express your thoughts on what it means to be an active citizen in your home country.
We believe the event to be rewarding and inspiring for all the participants who care for a positive change and who regard Olof Palme as a role model for his prominent contribution to the international peace, democracy and human rights.
To sign up for the event, please fill in the registration form here by Sunday, 26th January, at the latest. The selection of the participants will be managed on a “first come-first served” principle among those who have answered the motivation question. If selected, you will receive a letter confirming your participation shortly after the registration. Kindly note that SI does not cover any travel or accommodation costs.
Please feel free to contact us via alumni(at)si.se if you have any questions or ideas to share.
Looking forward to meeting you in Stockholm!
